The Fonthill Lions held their 13th annual BBQ Steak Fundraiser on Saturday, August 16. This year’s Hawaiian theme inspired guests to don bright floral apparel, grass skirts and leis. The food was “ono grinds”, Hawaiian for delicious food, including perfectly grilled steak, salad, coleslaw, baked potato and fresh corn (donated by Bry-Anne Farms), followed by ice cream topped with pineapple sauce.
Proceeds from the BBQ were donated to Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides Building Fund for the third consecutive year. Dog Guides is a registered charity that offers free dog guide programs to qualifying Canadians with disabilities who are going through traumatic situations.
The event was sponsored by Sons & Daughters Winery, a local family owned and operated Pelham vineyard, who specialize in small-batch wines and amazing stone oven pizza.
