The Fonthill Lions hosted their third annual High Tea on Saturday April 15 and despite the weather warnings, the event was a huge success.

This year’s event was sponsored by Dube Realtors.  Prizes were donated by a diverse group of local businesses, including Natasha Bradley, Lifetime Vision, Edward Jones, Styles Fonthill, Pet Valu, Global Pet Food, Stoke Deli Bar, Butcher & Banker, The Travel Café, Pharma Choice, Donna’s, 416 Coffee Company, Next Restaurant, Creations by V, Shoppers Drug Mark, The Baking Bar, Italian Peasant, Miller Restoration, Rose Hill Lane, Sweet Thoughts, Everyday Market, The Healthy Cupboard and others.   The door prize, a beautiful butterfly broach, valued at $425 was donated by Sapphire’s jewelry.

The menu consisted of scones, with clotted cream and raspberry preserves, pin wheel and finger sandwiches, followed by assortment of tasty desserts.  Ample pots of hot tea were served by handsome Lions wearing suits or tuxedos to the happy guests adorned with exquisite fascinators.

An upbeat and joyous ambiance was created by keyboard artist Mario Geremia, who generously donated his talent and time.

Justin Dube, of Dube Realtors, entertained the guests by performing magic tricks on a table-by-table basis, creating lots of laughter as he worked his way across the hall.

All in all, a good time was had by all.
